What I've been working on

He's Cowboy Roy from Gloria and Pat. I can't believe I'm actually working on Aida - haven't touched that fabric for 20 years or so it seems and I didn't miss it not one bit. ;) It's for this guy http://lovequilts2008children.homestead.com/JoshuaW.html
I just had to do it since he's from Texas and loves the Cowboys and the Stars. It should be finished tomorrow (I actually have tomorrow and Monday off - yay!) and then I'm back to 12 Days. I might actually get that one done this weekend as well.

Nothing else going on here that's too exciting. Stadium still being worked on, the Rangers are out of town this weekend. I get to sleep as late as I want and go have coffee at the Pitt (wait - I do that every day:) ) but you know it's more fun when you get paid to loaf around.

Have a good weekend!

A Cloudy Day

First up Charlie Wingate (and yes I named my cat after him and it was more appropriate than I realized at the time) he's been out for a couple of weeks - th e sling - but he's getting back into the groove and we were glad to see him today.

They're still working on the roof of the stadium - I don't know if I could be that high off the ground for 8+ hours a day but they do it -and they've made some progress:

A little blurry but the latest on the 12 Days ornie I'm working on. I'm down to the four corners and then I'm done. I got the backstitching done the other day. This one is going much faster than I thought it would.

And finally Miss Mary Mack - I just love this one and I need to find an appropriate Gothic frame for her. I'm also reading Jane Eyre right now and for some reason that always reminds me of Miss Mary. ;)

More rain is supposed to be coming in today but it's stalled out to the west of us.

Have a good weekend!!

Finally An Update

Sorry it's been awhile - I've just been slacking as you can tell by the dates on these pictures. First up is the latest on Cirque -thought I'd share since I'm about to pick this one up again.

Then we have a really BIG progress pic (the new Cowboys stadium - they've gotten even more done on the roof since I took this one):

I'm Still Practicing

The digital camera that is. This is the view from the diner - it's the new Cowboys football stadium right across the street. Almost everyone is unanimous in their dislike - either because they didn't think the city should take people's houses for a fraction of the value or because they don't like the Cowboys or Jerry Jones or because they just don't like any kind of change at all. I personally think it can't be anything but good for Arlington; more jobs, more tourism, more taxes for the city and possibly more entertainment for me (concerts and such) because as we all know it's all about me. ;)

Anyway, here it is - the arch across the top is for the retractable roof.
